Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love coming to school. They are sweet, loving children who look forward to school every single day. However, my students struggle with reading. Some of my students are unable to read books because they are significantly reading below grade level. They also struggle with spelling during writing activities. Many of them are missing basic reading, writing, and spelling skills. My students also struggle with basic math facts. I really want to help my students to become better readers and mathematicians by the end of the school year!
All of my students qualify for free lunch and come from low-income homes.
I work with students from many different backgrounds. English is a second language for many of my students. My school is one of the biggest schools in the state. Many of the students come from single-family homes and live in very tough neighborhoods.
My Project
My students will use the All-In-One Magnetic Writing Center, alphabet picture magnets, alphabet stickers, alphabet practice cards, etc to learn new sounds and to learn new words! My students will also use the materials during small group instruction, independently, and with a partner during center time!
My students will benefit tremendously from the Alphabet Picture magnets and stickers.
They will be able to learn new sounds and make new words while having FUN! Having a variety of different phonics activities and materials will keep my students engaged and interested. These alphabet stickers and magnets will allow my students to continue learning having fun with their classmates! My students will be able to have fun while learning letter names, letter sounds, and new words during center time!
My students also need privacy partitions for a distraction-free environment for tests, quizzes, independent reading, center time, and during reading and math rotations.
My students also need colored paper and ink! We are running low on supplies!
