Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is a Special Day Class. The students that I serve have varying needs and challenges that make school difficult and not as easily accessible as neurotypical students. My mission is to make my classroom a place where my students can learn, grow, and experience learning in ways that accommodate their needs.

Reading is an area where many students struggle.

This is definitely the case in my class. I plan to use the chairs and the stools to create a calm reading nook where my students can go, get comfortable, and practice their skills. I have a bookshelf that would be the center of the seating area so that students have a visual reminder of the purpose of the area.
