My Students

I am moving into a new dyslexia/reading interventionist position along with my ESL position. I am looking to build my library of resources for these students. I am looking for activities that they can use to help them take a word that they see on a page and apply a meaning to it. The students that I will be working with require that extra level of attention to building their vocabulary.

All activities used will help them do so and gain the confidence they need to participate in the classroom.

My Project

My students will use the sight word games to help them learn words that they will see in their daily lives. Playing lingo (a language based bingo game) will help them put the meanings of the words into pictures. We will then use those words by adding them to our personal dictionaries and in our writing.

My students will use their knowledge of the words learned to participate in classroom discussions and apply this knowledge to their writing.

They will gain confidence in their vocabulary which will allow them to join in on classroom discussions and projects which require reading and writing.
