My students need many books for reading between home and school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very special. We are part of a school community where the school is brand new. The school we are a part of started a little over two years ago and my students were the inaugural class here. They are the first group of students to start the school and they are going to be the first class to graduate.
Since this school is a brand new school we are very, very limited in resources.
The school is small, which makes for an amazing learning community, but because we are small and new the funding we get is very limited. We are desperately in need of so many supplies and we need your help.
My Project
Since our school is new and growing our materials are very limited, especially books. A lot of the books we have in our library, the books that my students read on a daily basis and go home to be read with their families, are books I have printed out on the computer. I am constantly searching and scrounging around the internet for leveled books to print out so my students can have something to read. What further makes this a problem is the fact that these reading books get put in a reading baggie and each night these books go home with the students to share with their families. I am asking for four copies of nineteen different books including Poppleton, Dirty Larry and Wait, Skates!
I want to stress the connection between reading at home and reading at school but without books for my students to take home I cannot achieve that.
The ultimate reading goal is that each night students can take their baggie of books out, sit with a family member, and read together. Sadly, this cannot happen because I barely have any books to send home. My students need books. I want them to enjoy books, love books, grow from books-both for themselves and with us at school and at home with their families. Please help us out.
