What would it be like if you could take a story or information that you had gained and bring it to life somehow? Well through art, my classroom can do just that! With the use of an iPad, paints, paper, plain books, and other art supplies a child can create and share their knowledge and information.
My fourth graders are curious, loving, and talented.
We are a school like many others who are suffering from budget cuts. Our school is in the high poverty percentage. Having these supplies can ensure that we can create more hands-on activities to stimulate their senses. My class begs for ways to tell about what they know. I would like to be able to give this to them through the use of art.
My Project
Many children are visual learners. Some of them struggle with remembering information and then being able to share it or bring that information to a test. So what better way to show your knowledge than through a project. With the use of an iPad for research a student will be able to create a book based on what they have learned. I have asked for story books that are blank, paints, brushes, plain paper, construction paper to help support their visual needs to bring their ideas to life. Story books to use as a writing avenue that they can draw and write their information to share with others. I would like to use these tools in reading, science and social studies.
I find my project to be important because I see so many children who have problems with writing and reading.
Being able to use the technology and the use of art materials so they can create and build what they see and feel from what they have learned. Giving them a chance to express themselves through this avenue. Creating projects with the use of an ipad, paints, paper, and story books will help those who have a hard time retaining information bring their knowledge to life.
