My Students

Our school is a Title I school in Nevada. The school is able to offer 100% free breakfast and lunch to all of our students. As a librarian, I noticed that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Literacy is an important piece of their academic growth. They embark on experiences through reading literature.

The library is the heart of the school that allows students to come and explore different subject areas in their academic learning.

I am hoping to encourage and motivate my students to embrace their learning experience.

My Project

I am requesting these books for my students to create awareness in the library, for the many subject and content areas for them during their learning process. The books that I have selected will explore different genres of reading that will further guide them to understand the difference between fiction and non-fiction literature.

These books will help my students learn new material and gain knowledge on how to conduct inquiry-based research using the library as a learning tool.

My students and I will conduct an Author Study to gain knowledge of their writing process and how the author generated the idea for their story.
