My Project
First grade is a fantastic age, and I am excited for this new opportunity to shape our future leaders of tomorrow. My students are establishing strategies to become independent learners. I absolutely love their inquisitive nature and fierce desire to be independent. They are learning so much this year and can't wait to come to school each day to see what new and exciting things they will learn.

I am requesting National Geographic Non-Fiction reader books. These are leveled, age appropriate and reading ability targeted series that are perfect for my students while studying high interest topics, learning to research, and stimulating their adventurous spirit. We are also requesting a book display shelf to store and have these books easily and readily accessible to them. Additionally, in my classroom we celebrate independent reading and a love of literature. I love that we are able to develop a classroom culture that promotes a desire for adventure and love of literacy.
