Reading Is a Miracle For Every Student!

When students read, they experience the œmiracle Anne Lamott refers to in the quote above.

I work in a Title 1 school with a small library and limited funds. 90% of the students receive free and reduced lunch. Although most of my students come from homes of low economic status, they have a love for reading. Many of my students do not have access to the books they love to read. For my students, books open up a world of new experiences academically and emotionally. With a great book, my students can travel to other places, meet exciting people and make new friends.

My Project

My students need The Battle of Jericho series to read for our novel study. With these books, my students and I will have novel studies that involve discussion, reflection, and essays. As students read, the students will also increase their vocabulary because we will discuss the words as they appear in the story. These books will inspire my students to read more and have a love for reading because they are books the students enjoy reading.

I would love to see all of my students reading for pleasure as well as reading to learn new information.

The books you provide will give students with academic and financial challenges the opportunity to experience an exciting world through the books they read. My students love reading and want to become better at reading. With your help, this miracle will be possible.
