This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The books I am asking for are captivating, engaging, and will encourage reading in my classroom. I am confident that these books will grab my students attention and they will want to take these books off my classroom library shelf. As an ELA teacher my goal is to have my students enjoy reading independently. I encourage my students to read books everyday for 30-40 minutes and complete a 2 sentence summary on their reading log as their homework nightly. Having books that interest them will engage them in reading. All books will be placed in the classroom library where students can check them out and read whenever they'd like.
