My students need more books to choose from. As a 1st year teacher, I came in with a limited selection and would love for my students to be able read a variety of books.
I have a group of twenty 2nd grade students in a small town Iowa school with minimal funding. The funding we get goes to essentials at the beginning of the year.
With additional funding I would love to get more resources to keep my students energized and excited to learn!
As their brains grow throughout the year, having more chapter books that can challenge them and continue to push them with their love of reading will help prepare them for later grades.
My Project
My students LOVE to read! I'm running out of books for my students as they continue to read as many books as I can bring in for them. Coming in as a first year teacher, I don't have as large of a selection for my classroom library as I would like to have.
Getting more titles for my students would excite them and continue to grow their love for books and reading.
Increasing the size of our classroom library would help my students continue to interact with literature and hands on reading experiences.
They truly love any time they get to sit down with a great book.
