My Students

These students come from a challenging background. Their uniqueness makes teaching a great experience as they aim for greatness daily. Receiving help from donors gives my teaching that supports my need to expand my students' understanding.

I am a part of this challenging, but amazing community.

Our school serves 100% reduced/free meals. There are high-poverty/low-income families served. We are bordering the Navajo Nation Lands, so we are about 97% of Native Americans enrolled in our school. The majority of students live off the paved roads, which gives families the challenges of coming to school every day. A majority of our students come from single-parent households.

Our school makes every effort to positively impact the school culture and we continuously work with our families and the challenges they face each day. We use our school-home connection to engage families in activities allowing for more participation. Making strong lifelong learners and continuing to engage students to take part in their education is what we strive for.

My Project

These novels will give my students the enjoyment of reading new books. The books will add on to our growing library that would invite students to read for enjoyment. Books are colorful and engaging for students.

These novels will be used in novel studies in class with a deep dive into understanding what is read.

Using new books at grade level and starting a new year with my class is an exciting adventure. Getting these books will give my students reading materials to further their content understanding using grade appropriate novels.
