Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
COVID cannot stop my kinders! Since the beginning of the school year they have been determined to learn. We are currently around 63% letter name and sound mastery, they attend their guided reading group, so my students are ready to begin reading independently. They are so excited to be growing and learning that they just light up when they are able to read simple sentences.
My Project
Kindergarten has come and gone! Covid might have kept us from being in person and learning in a classroom, but that did not stop my Rocketeers from learning to read, they have mastered their letter names and sounds, and they have been practicing their sight words every day!
They are now ready to leave us and go to FIRST GRADE!
This year has definitely been one for the history books! Even though our students were home, they continued to show their Ganas and Persistence when it came to learning virtually. We zoomed through 100 days and celebrated with fun virtual activities. We are getting ready to complete 40 weeks of virtual school and our kids have been so amazing. That is why we are getting a book for every student. We might not have a typical graduation but we will make sure every student has a book to read over summer. We are so proud of our students and the hard work they have done. They deserve the world and more, but a book to get them ready for first grade will be a great start!
