Reading Intervention Instruction with Quality Technology

My Project

As a reading interventionist, my job is fast paced and I meet with many different groups of students throughout the day. Quality time is wasted because of technology. My district gives us a teacher laptop. I also have a SmartBoard. Some of my programs are not conducive to run on the SmartBoard and work better with a laptop. However, I would have to hook and unhook my laptop up and get reset up during various times of the day. It is wasting valuable time from my intervention students.

My goal for this project is to get a laptop that I can leave hooked up to my SmartBoard while having my older one for teacher prep/work.

Having a touchscreen one will also allow me more time by not having to fumble with a mouse while it is hooked up. My students deserve to have quality instruction that isn't hindered by technology. I rotate my groups on a half hour basis, so time has to be used efficiently. By having a laptop used just for projection to my SmartBoard, I will be able to use all my time for instruction rather than troubleshooting. Thank you for taking the time to consider this project and improve quality intervention instruction that hopefully will improve students' reading proficiency.
