This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year, the majority of my students come from low income families and are struggling with their reading skills. My students are trying to become great readers and overall successful in their academic careers.
Being a 3rd grader can be really tough with all of the standards and benchmarks they have to meet.
With your help, I plan on making their 3rd grade year as wonderful as I can.
My Project
Hello, and thank you for your consideration in donating to my project. The 3rd graders at my school are so behind on reading. Our team is trying to incorporate a reading program starting in January. After the students read their leveled books, they will take a comprehension test on them and earn points. With each point earned, the students will be able to buy items from the "classroom store."
The items in my project will provide the students with motivation to become more successful readers.
Not only will this help our struggling readers, but it will also help our on track readers become more inclined to strive for a higher reading level.
