My Project

Our school is committed to using our library as a community space that fosters a love of reading, and invites students to sit down to enjoy a book. Currently our storytime area consists of velcro dots on the ground, but bringing in quality, comfortable seating to a dedicated reading area will

CREATE a space kids want to read!

This zone would always be used for reading while students are in library class, but it is especially important for this space to be available during grade level lunch recesses. Many of our students choose to read during recess - while I strongly believe spending time outside is crucial - most of our school months here in Central Oregon are very cold. How great would it be for kids to find refuge in a book?!
