My Students

My students are a diverse group of 26 fourth graders who love to work hard, laugh, and dance - preferably at the same time! Our school is classified as Title I, which means family income is in the lowest 25th percentile in the state. This is important because it means many of my students are not afforded adequate learning materials and opportunities. Your gracious donations will help them access life-changing learning materials and opportunities, from books to technology to professional development for their dear teacher.

My students are avid readers, imaginative authors, careful mathematicians, inquisitive scientists, and caring citizens.

We are a fourth grade family who learn a little more each day just what it means to love ourselves and each other. Thank you so much for your time and attention to our growth!

My Project

In our classroom, readers relish in the opportunity to join book clubs as a social structure for developing deep interpretations about text in the company of others. For this reason, you will find titles in this project representative of both fiction book clubs and historical fiction book clubs. Nonfiction books are also included in order to support our understanding of the historical events we are reading about in our historical fiction clubs.

The goal is to help readers' author lives in which reading really matters, so it is essential that kids experience the shared pleasure of reading with friends.

The only way to do so is to have multiple copies of the same text, which is often a challenge for a classroom teacher. Thank you so much for your gracious time and consideration.
