Reading in Tents! Part 1 (We will need 24 altogether!)
Help me give my students the Gee Di Moda Square Tablecloths so my students will create tents to read in.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Webster's classroom raised $175
This project is fully funded
My Project
I want to give my students a fantastic and memorable experience in second grade. One memorable experience is using these Gee Di Moda tablecloths to build reading teepees on their desks. A tablecloth will be draped on a privacy shield that is on top of their desk. It will drape over their desk and fall to the floor. Students will crawl under their desk to get inside their tent! I believe these will make a difference in their learning by creating a unique and immersive learning environment and making reading feel like an adventure.
These tablecloths will add an element of excitement and novelty to the reading experience, making my students eager to dive into their books and become lifelong readers.
My students are noticeably more excited about reading and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of reading somewhere besides their chair.
Another reason these Gee Di Moda tablecloths will make a difference in my students by giving them a sense of ownership of their reading space. Allowing my students to personalize their Gee Di Moda (tablecloths) reading tents will build confidence, develop literacy skills, and promote a positive learning community. They can bring pillows, blankets, stuffies, and a flashlight from home to personalize their space.
Tent Tuesdays (using these tablecloths) will encourage independent reading in my classroom, positive behavior, and excitement. These opportunities will be experienced by all the little learners in my class.
