My Students

My students are creative, inquisitive, and determined! They all learn in their own ways. My students are visual, physical, and aural learners. I like to both cater to and challenge their learning capacities and styles by having them think outside the box. Every day, they enter my classroom ready to learn something new about ELA and stretch themselves beyond what they think are their limits. I teach because they matter and they are a true inspiration.

Our amazing school is in the inner city of Atlanta surrounded by families who have needs that often have to be met by government assistance and faculty and staff at our school.

I take the time to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met and that I have helped them to matriculate out of the ninth grade academy to tenth grade scholars. My ninth graders are truly awe-inspiring. I am thankful to have a rising group of scholars whose futures I can help shape. My students are just as excited and ready to learn every year!

My Project

These books and bookshelf will aid in the intellectual reading development of my scholars and further enhance the feel of this year's classroom theme of Ms. Kee's Coffee Shop. My classroom library is a safe space; my students enjoy immersing and losing themselves in it.

The writing utensils will help them create and develop their own writing styles throughout this school year.

These tools will allow my students to draw on their lived experiences and bring them to life with a theme not yet covered. I believe this will help them to fully engage and enjoy learning.
