My students need a comfy place to sit and I need lots of supplies, including magnets, games and stickers, to create a successful environment that promotes literacy.
There is nothing quiet like reading a great book in comfort! Especially in a classroom library that is organized and easy to find what you want. Help my students build a joy of reading through comfort and organization.
The majority of my students come from low income families with limited resources and supplies.
They are extremely hungry for knowledge and would love nothing more then to finally have a little comfort in their lives. The unfortunate status of education in California is negatively affecting my students and limiting the resources they greatly need and deserve for an equitable education.
My Project
Stickers will be used to label books and baskets, while bean bag chairs will provide students with the undeniable experience of reading a great book in comfort.
We will use the storage table for organizing our Reading Workshop posters. Magnets will be used to keep our reading posters on the board, stickers will be used for reading incentive charts, and dice and games will be used for literacy centers to improve phonics and build math vocabulary.
The resources provided by your donation will help my students build a love for reading. Reading is the most important part of a students education! It stems all other learning. Organization and comfort will help to develop fluency, creativity, pleasure, comfort, and much much more.
