In the past, we have been a traditional farming community. However, in the last few years we have experienced a sudden population growth that has caused our schools to become overpopulated. Our student population is a mix of Hispanic/Latino, White, and African American. We are a Title I school. Our school has a population of over 700 students.
Our class is unique in that we have both second and third grade students that are highly motivated to learn.
They need to be challenged with multiple engaging activities to foster their curiosity.
Learning from home provides a challenging environment for the students to stay inspired. This project helps support their desire to learn and provide them with a quality resource.
My Project
Currently, our students are learning from home. They don't have the engaging resources that they would get in the classroom. I am asking for funding for this project to support students in this new environment. These magazines will provide a hands-on reading magazine with trusted information and great pictures.
Our learning environment has changed for our little ones.
I am trying to provide as much support and consistency as possible. In the past, our district has funded these magazines. The students have always LOVED them. They look forward to every issue. I hate that this is just one more thing they have to go without.
The curriculum that is sent home, while effective, needs supplemental materials that fill in the gaps. This is one of them.
Please consider giving to our project and help me put a smile on their little faces. Thank you!
