This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Foundational reading skills are critical in the educational success of students. In order for students to be good readers, they must have numerous opportunities to read. Fostering a love for reading is critical in elementary school.

We will use our Book Vending machine to get students excited about reading by igniting a passion for reading that transcends the classroom.

Because our school is a Title I school, we are challenged with providing adequate educational resources due to limited funding.

Our school will use our vending machine to provide students with opportunities to choose a book to take home and enjoy forever.

Our school demographics consist of 90% free and reduced lunch and low-income households, with 75% of them being multilingual learners. This could be an obstacle for our students; however, these challenges do not deter them from wanting to learn and grow.
