This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Due to the joy of being able to parent 3 lovely girls I previously left my teaching career. Now I pursue another chapter in my life of going back to revive my teaching career.
I have been given a great teaching opportunity for a Kindergarten class in a neighborhood that most children are either in shelters or underprivileged.
The classroom I have been given doesn't have many center materials or equipment needed to enhance the students' learning and their ability to learn to read and write. My plans are to transform this classroom from an ideal classroom into a reality. This will design a creative space that will promote student creativity.
My Project
I was fortunate enough that a donor donated a reading group table for my reading group area.
Now I need to make my small group reading are functional and accessible to the students.
The small group teaching easel will allow me to prepare written work for my group. The easel also has pockets to store materials during my small group lesson. The mini magnetic boards will allow my students to use magnetic letters during the small group activity or write an answer to a question I gave during the lesson. The classroom work organizer will be a place in the area for each child to store their small group work.
