As a teacher in a low income area, I try to teach my students the hands-on aspects of learning. My students are learning to work with each other, sharing their ideas and experiences to be successful. I don't want them to just use computers to learn, but to use each other to solve problems or to interact with one another. I want them to be kids that can work together as a team. I would like to give the students things they can play with outside as kids making memories and stories to share when they go home.
My Project
The benches will give the students a place to sit and read or write in. They love getting outside in this area as many butterflies will fly by to get food from our plants. The students also love this area to explore the flowers and other bugs as teachers will take them out to continue their education in an area rather then in doors. I encourage students to get out and explore the outdoors as much as possible. Their writing of what they see has improved since being able to sit and explore what they see. Please help my students see the world!
