My Students

I work with 4th graders who are struggling in the area of reading. I see these students on a daily basis for 30 minutes a day. Some of my students find reading and math to be somewhat difficult and boring at times. I would like for my students to get excited when they come to reading and math groups.

My students love to play games and to do a variety of activities that involve having hands-on learning.

At times, in a world full of technology, it is difficult to find hands-on activities that engage my students, especially during these times of online learning. These hands-on learning tools would be a great resource for my students to use in small groups when they come back to in-person learning. These tools include a variety of manipulatives such as games and task cards.

These materials will be used for my Title I students at school to practice and review Reading skills that they learned. These materials will use file folder games to have students work individually on Reading skills that will cover main idea, supporting details, inferences, cause and effect, point of view and vocabulary.

These resources will greatly aid my students in retaining the information that they learned in their regular classroom because they are being engaged in the activity. They are required to answer questions and show their work and then turn it into me. This way I can see exactly what they do.
