This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school where the students are eager to learn each and everyday! They come to school with smiles on their faces ready to face the day. Each student gets an opportunity to be the leader in the classroom and show how they can be a citizen in and out of the classroom. This year will have its own different set of challenges with starting off the year virtually learning. But I know my students will work as hard as ever!
My Project
I am so excited to welcome my new first graders this year! After a year of change and uncertainty, we are in the classroom full time and students will be able to read books not only on their iPads this year but also from our classroom library. I believe that a classroom library is one of the most engaging areas of a classroom and excites students about learning. Students cannot wait to submerge themselves in a book of their choice or about specific content books like birds, tools, the sun, and the moon. I am so excited to expose my students to rich, informative, and fun texts!
