Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Some of my students have never read the classic story of Alice in Wonderland. This year I am hoping to create an interactive experience in literature through this novel. This book will help my students "believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast." -Alice in Wonderland
We are a Title I school with over 1,000 elementary students in New Mexico.
My students are from diverse backgrounds. They are 4th graders and include students that are gifted, English Language Learners and students with special needs. They are learning to love reading more and more each day.
My Project
This year our grade level will be doing an engaging novel study using Alice in Wonderland. We will be reading in small groups and as a whole class to engage in discussions about the literature. We will also be creating a novel lap book and participating in a real life "Mad Hatter's Tea Party". My students will be diving deep into the this novel. In order to accomplish this, we need 70 copies of this book.
Many students at my school have never read a classic novel.
With this donation I will be able to expose my students to great literature. They will also be engaging in exciting activities that will enhance their love for literature. This donation will allow them to have their own copy to read with the class.
