Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A classroom is a home away from home. I know; it sounds like a cliche. But given that the majority of kids have experienced what most haven't, it would mean the world to my students if I could make learning just a little bit more comfortable as they begin to start book clubs!

Reading isn't always the first thing kids want to do- especially in those uncomfortable things we call desks!

Creating comfort and a sense of "home" in the classroom is encouraging to even the most reluctant of readers. Rocker chairs, bean bags, and the comfort of a carpet will allow students to feel at ease and want to read because that will be our "Reading Corner."
