Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders attend a public school in an urban district. It is a Title I school, and 100% of the students qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch. Coming from an urban district and a Title I school, unfortunately, my students do not have as many supplies and opportunities as students in the surrounding districts.

This year, I have 25 inquisitive and eager students, many of whom are not on grade level.

They include SPED, English Language Learners, and LTSS students, but they are always ready to learn. My students are full of energy and their creativity shines through in all of the work that they do. They soak up everything you put out.

My goal is to make their VIRTUAL school experience meaningful and fun while also setting high expectations and providing a safe, loving environment for all of my students, no matter their circumstances. Your donations mean more than you will ever fully understand!

My Project

I have 24 virtual learners. They have been learning from home since Day 1. I would love to start an afternoon book club with my kiddos reading and exploring the classic, Charlotte's Web. WE can have group discussions, work in small virtual groups to arrange presentations, and just get lost in our book together. I will go LIVE every day to read the pages to them and offer a video for those that can't make it. Each student will have their own copy to follow along, mark-up, and take notes. Reading shouldn't always be instructional. I want it to be enjoyable. The Mad-Libs will help us explore parts of speech all while having a good laugh.
