My Students

My school is located in the inner city of Nashua. We have more than 1,000 students from over 25 different countries. Our population includes students that receive free or reduced-price lunch and many are currently receiving Special Education Services.

Even though we are such a diverse culture, our students strive to be the best that they can be daily.

We have an amazing staff that supports each and every student daily. I am excited to be a part of changing their futures and giving them skills to be successful readers.

My Project

I am looking to get my students reading materials to help support their understanding of nonfiction text. Using directed nonfiction text structures for the students to mark up will allow them to see the bigger picture of informational text structures.

Nonfiction texts are used every day in middle school and my Special Education students need materials to help support them and help them make progress.

Learning how to use context clues to decode vocabulary is difficult, and with these resources, I will be able to make it easier for my students. All of these tools will play a major daily roll in my classroom for my students that need it most.
