This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Guided reading is the key to successful students. My students are from a Title 1/ Renaissance school in Tampa, Florida. Many are English Language Learners that are working hard to not only learn to read, but also to learn the English language. My students come in every day eager to learn to read. They enjoy our small group time and look forward to reading new and interesting books that are on their level. When they are able to read a book on their own their eyes sparkle with excitement.

My Project

Guided reading is the key to successful readers! In order to support our struggling readers we must provide literature that is both supportive of their needs and interesting. These requested books will be used daily to empower our striving readers during guided reading. Students are likely to engage with books that provide the necessary picture support that will allow them to feel successful.

Students that perceive themselves as readers have already won half the battle.

With these new books, they will feel confident in their ability to read.

Please help me so that I can open their eyes to the wonderful world of reading.
