My Project
I love how resilient, curious, and hopeful my ESL students are. They bring rich life experiences and a genuine desire to learn.
Many connect personally to the themes in When Stars Are Scattered, and this book will offer them both a mirror of their own journeys and a window into others’ lives.
To support their learning, I’ll use scaffolding strategies—like visual aids, sentence frames, vocabulary organizers, and guided discussions—to make the story accessible and meaningful. I’ll also use curated resources from Teachers Pay Teachers to plan targeted lessons that build reading comprehension and critical thinking.
A color printer will allow me to print high-quality visuals, graphic organizers, and, most importantly, students' final storytelling projects. Seeing their work printed and celebrated builds confidence, pride, and a stronger sense of voice in a new language.
