My Project
For the third year in a row, our school is choosing a Common Read. This book, voted on by students, will be in every teacher's classroom for students to read, rate, and pass on to another classmate. During the last two years, the Common Reads were popular, and they set off a rush to check out and read all the other books by those authors.
Our hope is to keep developing our school's reading culture and build community around great stories that act as both mirrors and windows for students.
To do that, we need books!
One other colleague has a DonorsChoose project going, and between the both of us, we want to get a copy of the book in every room. With a school of nearly 2,000 students, we can use all the books we can get our hands on.
