My Students
Our classroom is our home away from home. We all come together as a community for lessons and fun activities. However, our resources are limited. We are in need of tools to help meet the needs of each individual learner in our classroom.
Our students come from a wide range of cultures and families.
In our classroom, we are one big family and we are part of a larger school community. Some students struggle with reading skills, especially those students who find traditional learning activities difficult. My students need the option of fun, alternative activities and lessons to support their learning styles.
My Project
Since we are a new school, our classroom libraries are not so full. Adding more engaging, interesting books to our classroom library will allow students to have so many more options when choosing what books they want to read.
Reading a high volume of books also boosts students' reading skills and allows them to move up reading levels - but it can also help students realize that reading can be fun!
Providing my students with high-interest series and nonfiction books will keep my students going back to our classroom library to read more and more, and will also encourage them to try out a new book or book series.
