My Project
Students have been told that they cannot learn Spanish because they are doing poorly in their English classes. Once they had been in my classroom for a while, they discovered that they could learn Spanish, and those people were wrong. This begins building their confidence. It makes me so happy when I see that "A-ha!" moment when they understand what they read or hear in Spanish.
These books contain vocabulary words in Spanish that occur over and over in different tenses.
Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) is a highly effective instructional strategy to help learners achieve language acquisition. Blaine Ray is one of the authors of a number of the books my students need and is considered an expert in this type of storytelling.
