Reading Fluency Through Theater

Help me give my students a collection of reader's theater scripts in both Spanish and English.

My Project

We are fundraising a collection of reader's theater texts so students can practice their reading fluency in a fun and engaging way.

Reader's theater aligns with the Science of Reading as an effective way to improve fluency skills.

Children will discover how to engage with texts more fully. Increased fluency will lessen the cognitive load while they read, allowing them to spend more time on comprehension of the text. Fluency and decoding are inextricably linked in weaving together comprehension, which is the ultimate goal of reading. We can't leave anything out of the equation.

We are also fundraising a Spanish language set so that our newcomer and bilingual/ESL students can continue to strengthen literacy in their home language.
