Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My library needs to be organized. Last year, my kids organized my library by genre and book series, and they read so many books that their reading improved exponentially. We also started reading Scholastic Magazines during Independent Work Time. Scholastic News is jam-packed with resources to make literacy, science, social studies, and STEM more engaging for my students, and it really did make learning more fun.

My students need a child-friendly magazine filled with current events that are relevant to their lives and book organizers to make our library more accessible.

To be active participants in society, they need to learn about the world and understand the current events that affect our everyday lives. Scholastic News not only does this, but it presents this information in ways that pique their interest. The graphics are colorful, the articles are written at their reading level, and the magazines provide activities to make their learning more meaningful. In addition, having a library that is organized allows my students to independently choose books that are at their level or by interest. The more kids read, the better that they do in school and in life. We also need soft Kleenex because when you read a good book it can stir up a lot of emotions. Would you please donate to my project to help me mold my students to be global learners and change the world?
