Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with a wonderful and diverse group of students who are eager learners. I have an energetic kindergarten class that loves learning. Many of my students come from different socio economic backgrounds and have different learning needs across the curriculum.
My students are enthusiastic learners, and love reading books.
They enjoy working on fun and challenging reading activities. In the library center they love reading with partners and using pointing stars as they read each word in the text.
My Project
Having a new clean rug in my class will be an inviting place for my students to read. The new rug will be large enough for each student to have their own spot. This will allow for a quiet reading space. A rolling bookcase will help organize our classroom library and allow for a quick access to books. The new bookcase will allow me to level my library in sections with clear labels. I plan on using the book bags for each student to keep their level readers in. I believe these materials will excite my students and will motivate them to become life long readers!
