This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My group of students is made up of thirty-four amazing fifth graders who have a passion to learn. We come from a Title I school and we're out to conquer the world. My students love to learn with hands-on materials and technology. These children are amazing and their brains can soak up as much as I give them. I enjoy watching them bond through play and music. They are an amazing team that is all working together to make sure each and every student is successful.

My Project

I am asking for a class set of Scholastic news articles. Last year my students enjoyed every time I would come in it with a new monthly order. It is very important for the students to be able to have something to touch and to write on in order to comprehend. With only having textbooks the students have a hard time interacting with the text. If we did not have news articles printed out in vibrant colors we would have to print stuff from online. The students love picking up the colorful pictures and read all the articles even when they’re not supposed to. Many times they like to pick up the articles for free time and read it on their own. The students the open ended questions that are in there as well.
