This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Middle School Language Arts. Our school is unique in a sense that my students and I travel together from 6th grade to 8th. I teach them Language Arts for the three years they are in our school. My students are curious, creative, intelligent little beings who are always ready to learn and explore. They will be thrilled to receive new age novels, they are getting bored of reading outdated ones. My class has been asking me to read Wonder this year and I would love to do so with this novel collection.

My Project

Most of the novels in our school are outdated due to low funding. I want my students to be able to read old and new books in line with there interest as well as educational goals. I allow my students independent novel projects where they get to choose a novel or their choice and complete a project per marking period. They would really benefit from these new age novels. They are also with me for three years so by the first year all the novels become old to them and less interesting. My students and I will be very grateful for this donation.
