My Project

As a library media specialist, I have the opportunity to teach students from our entire school. This includes over 795 diverse, ambitious students between kindergarten and fourth grade. We are a Title I school, with over 80% of our families qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches.

Our students love spending time in the library and it is the hub of our school.

Anytime we receive new books from the library, my students are extremely excited and rush to be the first ones to check them out. The books I have included on this list are specific books they have requested for the library, have won awards, or are books to help diversify the library collection. Every year, I like to add more picture books to our library. Library bound books last longer than any other editions available on the market. These books will help my students this year and many years to come.

These books will create endless opportunities to help them grow in the reading JOY.
