My middle school students are so sweet. I have a great group of students that deal with many challenges due to poor economic status and unfortunately, societal factors that they have no control over.
They come with so many hardships and challenges but are eager to learn.
My Project
The materials that I am asking for is to help create and customize a reading corner that is inviting and engaging for all students to read a book in. I would like to create a section of the room equipped with a nice book shelves and floor seats that are comfortable for the kids to sit on and read in. I would love for this area to be and actual area that is relaxing, inviting, and warm where a group of kids can sit and be engaged in a reading book that they can get from a "book shelf" and not a milk crate. I would love for them to have pillows and cushions to sit on, instead of the hard wooden desks that they sit in all day.
I would love to have a reading corner that is inviting for the kids to want to read.
