This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students come from broken homes. They are extremely underprivileged. Many of my students have parents in jail or in gangs. These kids need materials, need money for field trips, projects, classroom materials such as gallons of glue, paper.
Many of my students have emotional issues, developmental issues, autism and delays.
These kids don't have enough food to eat let alone have supplies. I would love to create a reading corner with bean bags, carpet, bookshelves and book.
My Project
These materials will help the students have silent reading time and learn to fall in love with books. A reading corner is essential for students especially those with special needs who need to become better readers and read their goals. My classroom has absolutely nothing. I have already spent well over $500 of my own money to buy supplies. I would really appreciate any kind donation to create a fun learning environment for my students. These students are not allowed to borrow books from the library which breaks my heart. A reading corner in the classroom will help us very much.
