My students need a classroom library. We currently do not have a designated area to read in our classroom besides the desk which is why the rug and beanbag will come in handy.

My Students
Nearly half of our students live in temporary housing, and the majority of the remainder live in public housing. Outside the school is nothing like the inside, because every day I go to school I encounter 12 of the greatest second graders ever. All of my students come from low-income families, yet they come to school ready to learn, love, and share with others. These students may have special needs but that doesn't stop their desire to learn. Most of my students lack academic and social skills necessary at the beginning of the year and leave at the end having acquired most of those skills. It is important to have a system of how things work best in the classroom in addition to a variety of resources so that students can learn as best they can and that is what I am trying to create
My Project
I will use these items to start a classroom library where the kids will enjoy spending extra time throughout the day for reading fun. They will be able to grab a book from the leveled library and lay across the genre-themed rug, they'll even be able relax on the reading beanbag while studying or leisure reading throughout the day.
It is extremely important for our children to enjoy reading for fun and for information so that it becomes a lifelong habit.
I think creating this space with these items will definitely encourage our children to read more often.
In order for children to improve their reading skills, they have to gradually increase the level of difficulty which is why a leveled library is EXTREMELY important for them! The thought of them having to return to their seats with these books will make it less motivating for them to engage in reading pleasurably so the rug and bean bag are essential to make them feel right at home.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
