This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In kindergarten, students develop the building blocks of reading and writing. Reading centers allow for movement, engagement and independence. Having the right set of manipulatives and activities, sets up success. This will allow the teacher to be available for small group interventions and accelerations. It is critically important in a kindergarten classroom that students are able to remain engaged in center activities that challenge them to grow as learners. The materials chosen will establish writing and phonics centers. These materials will allow students to be independent whole working and stay focused on learning skills being taught in the classroom.
