Our school is a Title One school. With 53% receiving free and reduced lunch. My students are amazing. They love new things that are brought into the classroom. They love working in our centers during center time. They would love to have new activities during this time. We need more hands-on activities. There are various students who have come in this year below academically. They would greatly benefit from extra reading activities. I am building various libraries and centers.
I will use these materials during my center time. The students will practice phonics and other letter sounds. Someone will sit and practice the included lessons included in the materials with the students. These materials are hands-on and visual which will give great support to the struggling readers. I already use similar materials and the students love them and it helps them learn to read in a fun and meaningful way. Learning to read is very important in my classroom. I believe having fun activities in my center encourages students. Building great reading is so important in my grade.
