This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Mrs. S. from Sharon Hill PA is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need reading material that will challenge them to think, dream, ask questions, solve problems, but most of all want to READ! The leveled readers are many of the classics that we remember from school.

My students are high energy, inquisitive, and always ready to learn something new. They come to school every day with questions, ideas, new interests, and a willingness to learn. They inspire me to challenge them through reading, videos, hands-on projects, and trips.
My students come from various cultures, countries, and family dynamics.
Our school is located in Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia. Our school is diverse and economically disadvantaged. This doesn’t prevent me from providing my students with the best education they deserve. It just means I have to be very creative.
My students wants to read. They have reading difficulties, and these leveled readers will encourage them to read because they use words they can sound out, language that is interesting, and the classsics will intrigue them to think, question, and problem solve.
Students become good readers when they read.
By donating to my project you will be helping to create good readers. I will have interesting books and magazines that every student will have access to a copy. They will no longer have to share books because we don’t have enough copies for everyone. The more you read the better reader you become. Reading introduces students to a world of places, things, and ideas they may never have heard of. Please help me to expand the world for my students.
