This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day, my students start off in our gathering circle. After they take care of "housekeeping," we come together to discuss what we will be learning about today. They can't wait to start the fun learning. This is our motto: Listen, Think, and Try! My students work hard every day and they are super eager to learn.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds.
They range from students who are learning the English language (ELL/ESL students) to ones who are special education students and everyone in between. The community is very supportive of our school, and we try to meet the needs of all our students.
My Project
Last year I was told I couldn't have any more materials with fabric in the classroom because of the pandemic so I gave my students our reading buddies and pillows since I wanted someone to use them and not store them for a year or more.
Well, it is about time to go back to a somewhat normal year next year.
Our theme has been Woodland Forest this year. The reading nook has been off limits but next year I hope that we can use that area again. I am requesting pillows and Woodland reading buddies to read to for our reading time!
The stuffed animals are durable since they are from Build a Bear and the pillows will be a comfy way to enjoy reading to their furry reading buddies. Learning to read in Kindergarten is an adventure and joy with some stuffed animals and fun pillows.
