Help me give my students a stuffed animal reading buddy to take home and read with this summer because keeping reading alive during the summer months is so important.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class loves the reading buddies we use every day at school to practice our reading. My kindergarteners love to read to their stuffed buddies. They practice their reading with them.
The reading buddies have made reading a lot more fun.
Some of my students were less than motivated to read, but having a buddy by their side to read with has helped.
I would like to continue the love and joy of reading at home. My hope is to send these reading buddies and books home in a sand pail for them at the end of the year so that they can continue their love for reading over the summer with their families.
We love Pete the Cat. I would love to give students these stuffed animals for all their hard work during an outside celebration at the end of the year.
