This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of 8 kindergarten to second-grade students enrolled in a special day class designed to support children with Autism. All of my kids are eager to learn and have tried their very best to be as independent as possible as they learn from home through this pandemic.

My Project

I currently have a caseload of approximately 25 students and each one of them benefits from additional supports to comprehend various types of texts. My project's goal is to offer visual supports that assist students in doing so. Additionally, I would like to provide students with journals that allow them to practice writing about the text and/or respond to it. The project you would help me fund will support by providing students the scaffolds they need to learn to do these skills independently. Help me support my students in reading comprehension.
