My Students
As a teacher I want to provide a fun, safe, caring, and engaging environment for all my students. Many come from low-income families. I strive to provide a positive and exciting experience that most of my students may never have a chance to experience at home.
Our school is a small continuum and a diversified public school that has a unique model.
It is designed to provide a continuous and nurturing educational experience in a small school environment. Located on one campus, the school currently enrolls students ages six-months through grade 12.
My Project
Our book area has books and that is about it. I am requesting materials that will engage my students and build their love for reading and literacy activities. Some may think that at the age of three there is very little that one can do to teach a child how to read.
However, as a skilled educator I know there are skills I need to teach my young learners now to create that foundation and love of reading; I believe with these materials I can do just that!
I am requesting felt board stories that children can use to retell and even add to the stories and rhymes we read in class. I am also requesting puppets to help with language and vocabulary development. These materials will not only help my students and they will have fun while learning.
